“Book Descriptions: I’m not the biggest fan of my little brother’s fiancée, but I’m a huge fan of Percy finding the kind of forever-happiness I know he craves. The kind neither one of us ever saw any evidence of while growing up.
Personally, I’m a little cynical it even exists.
There’s definitely no evidence of it in any of the marriages in our own extended family.
But Percy’s wedding isn’t about me, it’s about me supporting my brother to get everything he wants in this life, because fuck fairytale endings. As far as I’m concerned, that’s what love actually is: making sure the people you love have whatever they want and everything they need.
And for me, the people I love is just one person. Percy.
Which is why, when the person who is supposed to love him, the bride he’s about to pledge the rest of his life to, proves that she actually doesn’t, just an hour before they’re supposed to say their vows, I do what any good best man would do. What any good big brother would do.
I get Percy the fuck out of there.
I comfort and console him, and take care of him the way he deserves.
