I was only expecting a delivery of toothbrushes, but found myself face-to-face with an alien, not an Amazon delivery person. Abducted, I woke up on Niflheim, a heavily forested planet far away from home. Dumped here because my anxiety meds made me unworthy of my captors’ plans. I’m the next in line for Fyrifirar Tribe Jarl, a skilled warrior, and definitely not good at chopping down trees. She’s so small, barely larger than an orkin child, and so lovely I can’t get her out of my mind. And then I went and nearly killed her while felling a tree to distract myself. Yet somehow, she still ended up in my arms. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that Piper was my one true Elska mate. When she attempts to sneak away to Snaerfirar Tribe to obtain the herbs she needs for her anxiety, I follow, unable to let her go alone with the oncoming blizzard. I’ll help her get her herbs, I’d do anything for her, and maybe the Snaerfirar Tribe has answers to the question burning in my chest. Can humans and orkin be Elska mates?”
