Like Gabriel Fernandez in the US, and Baby P in the UK, thousands of children are murdered by their caregivers every year. When we hear of a new case, we are horrified. But we soon go back to our lives and forget about the many children still living in fear and torment.
I write to raise awareness, and in my latest book, I tell the horrific stories of six murdered children including:
Takoda Collins, who was forced to stay in torture positions for 20 hours a day
Gabrielly, who was buried alive after confiding that her stepfather was sexually abusing her
Ame Deal, who was padlocked into a plastic box in temperatures of over 100 degrees
I often tell the stories from the child’s point of view, with all fictionalised elements based firmly on the facts. In addition, you will read about:
