The action and intimate response of listening to music, the seeking and discovering and collecting, from a young age, has had a direct effect on me and my work, art, whatever you would like to call it... this existence of mine.
The bands and musicians that I love and their songs serve as the backbeat and vital bedding to my creativity, more than any writer or painter has.
In a way, this is an expression of gratitude.
Though not nearly complete, from my own point of view, at least, but I'd say I cover a lot of ground here.
The following pages feature plenty of essential and all-time favorites. Largely foundational stuff and so many moments and mileposts spent drenched in the sounds.
Whether you know the band, song or album or immediately recognize a reference, or not, I hope you can pull some meaning from these poems.
